Dr Chesters qualified from the University of Leiden Faculty of Medicine in The Netherlands in 1996. After training as a hospital doctor in Colchester and Walton-on-the-Naze, he qualified as a GP in 2000. He worked as a GP Principal in Braintree for 6 years before becoming a Freelance GP.

His medical interests include dermatology.

Dr Chesters is married and follows the Baha’i Faith.
