Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in women in Europe and worldwide, yet it is still perceived as a male health problem. Compared to men, women with CVD are typically underdiagnosed and undertreated. The risk of women’s CVD increases with age, and menopause can impact several aspects of cardiovascular health including lipid profile and blood pressure. Guest speaker Dr Nina Wilson will speak on the importance of increased risk of CVD in post-menopausal women, how CVD presents and the physiological changes that these women undergo.

Dr Nina Wilson

Dr Nina Wilson is a GP and menopause specialist. She works in the NHS and runs One Woman Health, a private medical clinic specialising in women's midlife health. She holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care with the British Menopause Society. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Oxford University and her medical degree from Cambridge University. She was formerly medical director of LIVI, Europe's largest online care provider and advisor to Sir David Nicholson, CEO of the NHS.
