12 hours CPD

The medical course organiser is Dr Sarah Gray, who has developed this training programme since its inception in 2003. She is a GP and previously the Clinical Lead for the Menopause Service in Cornwall. She is an accredited FSRH Menopause Care Principle Trainer. Dr Gray will be joined by experienced clinicians to deliver this two day course.

This course is suitable for doctors and other prescribing healthcare professionals who deliver women’s healthcare whether in primary care, sexual health, community or acute gynaecology settings.

The course material is NICE compliant, and evidence based. The format promotes discussion of how guidelines and recommendations can be applied to every day clinical practice. It is both pragmatic and practical in outlook.

You will be sent a list of resources to provide baseline information and enhance the experience.

The course is delivered live and will respond to current news and hot topics. Speakers will summarise each subject area and delegates will be divided into workshop groups of no more than 10, plus a menopause expert. The group format will allow you to ask questions and discuss a variety of related clinical scenarios.

The course will explain the evidence base and encourage a reflective and pragmatic approach using the format of interactive lectures followed immediately by a workshop on that subject. It will enhance the practice and clinical confidence of doctors and non-medical prescribers who are currently working in a setting that provides women’s health clinical advice. There will be discussions calling on your experience, and our advice is to join this course when working in this environment and not before.
